House of Experience brings semi-naked campaign stunt to London

Commuters and people passing through London's Liverpool Street station, and other locations in the capital this morning, witnessed a group of more than 100 demonstrators strip off for TransferWise's 'Nothing To Hide' campaign.

Participants involved in the stunt revealed the ‘Nothing To Hide’ message painted on their bodies as they marched through the heart of the capital and railway station. The protest, led by TransferWise co-founders Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann, was staged against financiers responsible for misleading consumers about hidden bank charges.

The stunt was staged three days after the company received $25m (314.7m) from Sir Richard Branson and American entrepreneur Peter Thiel to fund an ongoing awareness campaign about hidden bank fees.

The event was organised and co-ordinated by agency House of Experience, with a selection of promotional staff provided by Kru Live.

TransferWise, a service which allows people to transfer money abroad, has also published a ‘Board of Shame’ online, featuring advertising from banks and brokers concealing the fees they charge when customers send money abroad.

Hinrikus said: "Banking needs to be shaken up - today we kick off our campaign to stamp out hidden fees and make the world of international money transfers a fairer place. Raising awareness is an essential step in arming consumers with all the information they need to make informed choices about how to transfer their money abroad without getting ripped-off."
