Silver will be tasked with further strengthening the design aspect of Haymarket Network's strategic, creative and conceptual offering.
He joins from Haymarket Consumer Media's digital leadership team, where he oversaw and managed the output of the consumer division's brands online, and all its digital design staff across motoring, consumer electronics and leisure brands including WhatCar?, Autocar, Stuff, What Hi-Fi and FourFourTwo.
Before joining Haymarket two years ago, Silver was creative director at Nowwashyourhands working for clients such as MTV, BBC, and Camelot.
Juliet Slot, managing director of Haymarket Network, said: "This is a really exciting appointment for us.
"Coupled with our leading digital development and delivery team, it further enhances our ability to provide imaginative and effective solutions for clients, and sits at the heart of Haymarket Network's editorial offering. The department has grown from 13 to 20 people in the past 12 months -- and shows no signs of stopping there."
Haymarket Network recent activity includes the launch of the BOA's Beijing Olympics site and creating the Spikes site for the IAAF, as well as completing work for Nivea, Octagon UK, Sony and Castrol.
Silver said: "My approach is to look at customer behaviour and tastes, plus the requirements of the business, and to make profound design choices based on the links between them.
"At the same time, immersion in the brand helps build both internal and external clarity for clients."
Silver started his online career in 1996 at ISSolutions where he helped take Toyota and Toshiba successfully into online UK environments. He also worked as a creative director at Rufus Leonard for four years, where he enjoyed online success with Smart, Royal Mail, Daimler Chrysler, O2, and BT.
