As part of the appointment worth £5.5 million, the caterer will also create a ‘tea and cake’ café, honouring the 19th century ship's heratige as a tea clipper.

The Cutty Sark is moored at Greenwich and has been closed to the public since 2006 for a £50m conservation project. When it reopens next spring it will host corporate entertainment, parties, wedding receptions and other events.

Harbour & Jones said it will work with the venue’s sales team to "capture business and leisure tourism while London enjoys the hype surrounding the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics."

The caterer also supplies events at St Paul’s Cathedral and recently revealed that due to Occupy London protestors camped outside.
