Guests from the city’s legal, media, accountancy, insurance and banking firms enjoyed a private viewing of the historic Goldsmiths’ exhibition and entertainment from two opera singers and a silhouette artist.

Masked, liveried staff dressed in black and gold served fine Italian wines and gourmet canapés, while guests sampled an oyster shucking bar and a champagne masterclass from Laurent Perrier.
A trio of canapés, developed to complement the character of each champagne, was also served.
