Hachette secures Adidas deal across girls titles

LONDON - Adidas is promoting its limited edition Colours range of young urban clothing to teenage girls and young women with an exclusive display advertising deal across Hachette Filipacchi UK's B, Sugar and Ellegirl magazines.

The deal, through Adidas's media agency PHD, includes the back covers of the March issues of Sugar and B, out this week. Both feature models posing in Adidas clothing, with coverlines in the magazines' house styles.

The covers were shot by the magazines' editorial and fashion teams to an Adidas Colours brief.

The spring edition of Ellegirl, due out on February 14, will carry a five-page advertorial and all three titles will carry a combination of display ads.

Helen Brocklebank, ad director of Sugar and TV Hits, said: "We want to help advertisers talk to our readers in a more impactful way. Offering unique tailor-made creative opportunities like the Adidas Colours deal across our portfolio illustrates the creative potential of our titles."

Hachette UK was formed last summer when French publisher Hachette Filipacchi bought Attic Futura for £40m. It is also home to Elle, Red and Elle Decoration, after Hachette severed its joint venture publisher with Emap, which jointly published Elle, Ellegirl, Red and New Woman.
