Hachette bolsters teen titles with new editors

LONDON - Hachette Filipacchi UK has continued to strengthen its teen titles with the appointment of new editors for its two key titles Sugar and TV Hits!.

Claire Irvin, a contributing editor to Sugar, has been appointed as its new editor. Most recently, she handled the relaunch of Bliss for Brides.

Irvin said that her task is to build Sugar's circulation lead over other teenage titles. "These are challenging times for the teen market, but I'm confident the next year will see Sugar cement its position as the UK's leading baby glossy."

Hachette has also selected Helen Lamont as editor of teen title TV Hits!. She had previously freelanced on the title and worked on its relaunch last July following a merger with sister title CD:UK.

Pauline Haldane, editorial director of TV Hits!, is leaving Hachette to pursue freelance work. Lysanne Currie, editorial director for Sugar and Ellegirl, will also take responsibility for TV Hits!.
