Gyro helps SportsAid relaunch with £100,000 worth of services

LONDON - Brand communications agency Gyro International is donating 拢100,000 of brand and direct marketing consultancy to charity SportsAid as it prepares to relaunch.

Coinciding with the charity's 30th anniversary, Gyro has been working with SportsAid to review and redesign its corporate identity.

In addition, Gyro is developing a series of fundraising direct mail pieces as well as promotional material. The agency will also offer event organisation expertise for a fundraising Sports Ball, to be held at the Hilton Park Lane in October.

SportsAid helps aspiring young sportsmen and women through the support of individuals, corporate partners and other grant-giving organisations.

The charity has been supporting promising young athletes for 30 years and has distributed around 拢20m in funds. It currently gives 2,000 grants per year across 50 sports, including disability sports.

Former SportsAid grant recipients include gold medal winners Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Matthew Pinsent, Duncan Goodhew, Dame Kelly Holmes and Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Tim Lawler, chief executive of SportsAid, said: "Gyro's commitment is a tremendous boost to a charity of our size and its expertise and professionalism will help turn our plans for 2006 and beyond, into action. It is full of energy and it'll be a great partner."

Gary Brine, chief executive of Gyro International, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer our time and expertise to such a worthwhile cause as SportsAid. The charity is focused primarily on 12- to 16-year-olds and these are the guys who will be winning medals for Great Britain in the future."
