WPP is one of Grass Roots’ major shareholders - as an affiliate of WPP, The Grass Roots Group has created this position to concentrate on the strength and reach of its route to market and enable advanced benefits and value for both organisations’ extensive client bases.
Taylor will split his time between his existing meetings management sales role for the Grass Roots Meetings & Events division and this new opportunity.
He will be responsible for progressing a global strategic plan, identifying the most appropriate offerings and recommending various investments as necessary.
Taylor’s new role has also led to Hannah Wilkinson stepping up to take sole responsibility for sales and account management for the Meetings & Events division. Sue Massey will extend her head of operations role to also look after strategic meetings management implementation.
John Bunting, chief commercial officer for Grass Roots, commented: "The potential for growth through partnering with WPP is enormous and will only benefit both parties. We have no doubt it will also create significant value for all our clients – existing and prospective.
"David has an outstanding track record and has the knowledge and expertise to introduce many of Grass Roots’ integrated solutions to a wider audience."
Taylor added: "Our partnership is of huge importance and I’m very pleased to be leading this innovative approach as we get closer to WPP and drive The Grass Roots Group forward."
