However, the archaeology-themed drama had its lowest audience yet, down from 4.6m viewers for last week's instalment.
A repeat episode from the second series of Martin Clunes drama 'Doc Martin', brought ITV1 3.8m viewers and a 17.4% share between 9pm-10pm.
The third episode of BBC Two's 'Jimmy Doherty's Farming Heroes' earned 2.2m viewers and a 9.9% share in the same slot, while Channel Five's US import 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' was watched by 1.3m viewers giving it a 5.8% share.
The latest instalment of Channel 4's 'Big Brother' had 3.5m viewers and a 20.4% share between 10pm-11pm.
