Good stands down as Channel 4 head of interactive TV

LONDON - Peter Good is stepping down from his position as the head of interactive TV at Channel 4.

Good was responsible for developing the interactive TV application behind 'Big Brother'.

Most recently, he led the development of 4 Active, the interactive application that sits behind Channel 4 and E4 transmissions on Sky Digital and digital cable.

According to Good: "Over the last three years, my team and I have worked closely with Channel 4's commissioners and its independent suppliers to produce creative and groundbreaking interactive content, including 'Big Brother'. This year, we've completed the launch of Channel 4's dedicated interactive TV platform, 4 Active, and developed generic iTV applications that can be tailored to work alongside any programme."

In the short term, Good is planning a two-month research trip to the US, but is not thought to have another job to go to, but is expected to make an announcement about his future in January.

Prior to joining Channel 4, Good was vice-president of MTV Digital. Good joined Channel 4 in 2000 as head of interactive television with a remit to develop Channel 4's strategy for adding interactive and enhanced TV services across Channel 4 and E4.

He oversaw the development of the interactive TV application behind 'Big Brother'. At MTV, he was responsible for launching MTV's first digital TV channel M2, now MTV2. The channel was one of the first TV and web convergent concepts and won a Promax award for its TV on air look and also a Bafta for web design.
