GMR expands Rio office ahead of Olympics

GMR Marketing has expanded its presence in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

The sponsorship and brand experience agency, which recently , opened the doors of the office in March. The new office on the 13th floor of the  Rio Sul Center Tower aims to provide room for significant growth and expansion.

GMR is currently in contracts with nine Olympic sponsor clients for the Rio 2016 games, each of which is planning activations and marketing programmes designed to connect brands with consumers.

Ana Shapiro will head up the agency’s presence in the Brazilian city as vice president Rio 2016 Olympic operations. GMR also has offices in São Paulo.

Celso Schvartzer, Latin American lead for GMR, said: "With a larger Rio office comes greater on-the-ground capabilities, access and reach within this growing and important market. We’re making a commitment to be as well-prepared and adaptable as possible for the upcoming world events happening in Brazil."
