The DVLA database covers around 33m vehicles currently registered in the UK, updated quarterly and with historical data available back to 2000.
Gmap is planning to launch a range of packaged products in the next few months, as well as offering the data to users via self-service and bureau and analytics service.
The data can be used in conjunction with EuroDirect's Microvision market intelligence and Cameo consumer classification software, and with credit data from EuroDirect's sister company CallCredit.
According to Mark Whitton, automotive sales director for Gmap Consulting, the DVLA database is a highly valuable source of automotive market intelligence.
"It can be used to achieve operational excellence across all areas from new and used car market analysis through to dealer and service centre site location, sales planning, stock profiling and niche marketing through leaflet drops and direct mail," Whitton said.
