ghd to add high-street distribution

LONDON - Hair styling brand ghd, which currently has limited distribution, is working on a strategy for a roll-out into the UK retail sector.

ghd to add high-street distribution

Currently only available to purchase in selected hair salons and online stores including ASOS and Amazon, the ghd is looking to bring the brand into stores for the first time. ghd will be assessing stores for suitability of its range of hair styling products.

The move would mark a dramatic shift for ghd, also known as ‘Good Hair Day', which has not been available to purchase through high-street stores.

Last month the brand, which launched in 2001, appointed Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R to its global advertising business, following a pitch against MCBD, Grey and Atelier. The incumbent TBWA\Manchester did not re-pitch for the business.

Earlier this year ghd appointed Guy Longworth as global brand director.

ghd declined to comment.
