
The refreshed site, boosting users' experience of written, audio and video content, marks phase one of a longer-term digital strategy.
Future changes will further increase levels of user interaction, and connect Londoners with a London guide, offers and exclusive content.
"The new homepage is just the first phase in our plans to overhaul Capital's online offering, but we're pleased with how it presents a cleaner, fresher look as well as allowing us to surface much more of the great content previously hidden within the site," said Capital's head of interactive, Jude Brooks.
New features include a ‘promotional megapod', pushing the day's main stories, a listeners' texts display, video clips and 24-hour traffic and travel reports.
The site was designed by GCap Media's in-house design team and built and hosted by Mediaspan.
