Future's SFX launches online to boost brand awareness

LONDON - Future Publishing has launched an online version of its science fiction and fantasy magazine SFX, as the genre enjoys a renaissance due to the popularity of TV shows such as 'Dr Who' and 'Lost'.

The will include a forum, an archive of SFX articles dating back 10 years and daily updates from the magazine's Los Angeles correspondent James White.

Dave Bradley, SFX editor, said: "The website and the forum provide perfect ways for us to communicate with the fans every day, delivering loads more of the sci-fi coverage they enjoy."

Future hopes the move will increase awareness for the SFX brand globally among science fiction and fantasy enthusiasts and advertisers.

Simon Maxwell, SFX publisher, said: "We hope to make the SFX brand more recognisable across the world and make our website the first place to come for exclusive news and unparalleled access to the big names."

This latest site follows the launch of Future's Total Film offshoot . David Maher Roberts, Future head of new media, said further online launches for other brands will take place next year.
