Future music magazine to target technology-friendly DJs

LONDON – Future Publishing is launching a one-off technology-focused music magazine for DJs, called Digital DJ.

The new title, which launches this week and will be available for eight weeks, focuses on DJ-ing with CDs. It is aimed at 16- to 20-year-old males and first-time DJs, as well as experienced vinyl DJs new to performing with CDs.

The magazine is edited by Ian Harris and Oz Owen and includes features on best MP3 download sites, tips on playing your first gig and CD turntable reviews.

According to Harris: "Digital DJ focuses on a market that has been widely ignored by existing DJ magazines.

"Most of the magazines are very much focused on traditional vinyl turntables, but if you're a first time DJ you won't want to invest thousands in equipment that's only got two or three years left."
