Future links with BT click&buy to sell content online

LONDON - Future Publishing is teaming up with BT click&buy to make content from its Digital portfolio of magazines available online.

is the first of Future's magazines to benefit from the BT click&buy deal. Under the new partnership, it will be able to offer various creative tutorials from its offline magazine in an online format.

Available as downloadable PDF files, the online tutorials are aimed at overseas readers as well as at creative computing enthusiasts who may have missed an issue of the magazine or who simply want to find out more about a particular subject area.

The cost for each tutorial will be about 99p and can either be paid for by debit or credit card, by direct debit or charged direct to a BT phone bill. Any supporting image files normally found on the magazine's covermounted CD are included in the price.

John Weir, publishing director of Future's Digital portfolio, said: "The idea behind this initiative is for us to expand our online offering by providing our site visitors with a better taste of Future's products through downloads. An additional aim is to potentially increase our readership by reaching and providing content to any overseas readers."

Future is currently looking at rolling out the BT click&buy service across a number of its magazines including Digital Camera Magazine and Your Family Tree.
