Fox celebrates 70th anniversary with studio classics online campaign

LONDON - 20th Century Fox is celebrating its 70th anniversary with an online campaign by Greenroom Digital to inspire collectors and 'silver surfers' to buy the new Studio Classics range of DVDs, featuring films from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s.

The dedicated has been created using a similar retro design that appears on the DVD covers.

Users can search for a favourite director or film title or by using a keyword, genre or decade button to find out information on films such as 'Hello Dolly!', 'The Fly' and 'The Grapes of Wrath'.

The site offers information on each of the 70 films in the range, including original release information, trivia, trailers, reviews and special offers.

Online PR, search engine optimisation and email database activity support the campaign with through-the-line work by Starcom MediaVest and DSA PR.

Al King, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment marketing director, said: "We believe that there is a real opportunity to reach out to DVD collectors and to the older consumer base with these titles. All our marketing efforts are focused on these two consumer groups."

The first set of 20 titles was released this week and contains a collector leaflet with details on how to claim free film stills and an 'Inside the Photo Archive Book'.
