Greenroom Digital gets on board the Magic Roundabout

LONDON - Greenroom Digital is launching a new website in time for the film remake of the popular 1960s animated TV show 'The Magic Roundabout'.

The has been designed as part of a larger digital campaign being run by the agency, which includes desktop applications, viral marketing and a full digital communications strategy with a number of key promotional partners, such as Nickelodeon and AOL.

The site's extensive content has been designed to target a wide audience and features games, video downloads, character sessions, competitions and a chatroom.

To encourage repeat visits and user engagement with the release, additional content will be rolled out over the coming weeks, with exclusive games and promotions being offered to those that sign up to the Magic Roundabout members section.

Jon Hamm, managing director of Greenroom, said: "To create a digital world for the film and the characters to exist in was the key objective in our strategy, we wanted to provide a route for the audience to engage emotionally with the characters prior to the film's release."

Based on the much-loved original TV series, Pathe UK has resurrected the cult show with an all-star line-up of voices including Robbie Williams, Joanna Lumley, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Sir Ian McKellen, Ray Winstone, Tom Baker and Kylie Minogue.

The film is due for national release as a full-length, CGI-animated feature on February 11.
