Foo Fighters follow U2 by streaming gig online

LONDON - Foo Fighters are following U2's lead by streaming a one-off concert live on Facebook this weekend.

The show, which will be recorded at Studio 606 in Los Angeles, will be streamed live on Facebook at 2am Sunday morning UK time. Fans are encouraged to RSVP to the event here to help publicise the show, and can watch it  here.

Viewers will be encouraged to update their status during the event and share comments with other fans.

Fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters have entered semi-retirement, taking a break from touring and recording to concentrate on individual projects. However they are releasing a greatest hits album in early November.

The video will be powered by Livestream and is expected to generate an audience of millions across the globe.

On Sunday, U2 streamed a concert at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles across YouTube. According to producers Whizz Kid Entertainment. it was viewed by over 10 million people.
