Facebook's Zuckerberg storms Forbes Rich List as fortune hits $2bn

LONDON - Facebook's founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has risen to number 158 on Forbes' American rich list, with an estimated net worth of $2bn, one fifth of the social networking site's $10bn valuation.

Zuckerberg, aged 25, is the youngest person on by 10 years.

He debuted on the list last year at 321 with a net worth of $1.5bn, however earlier this year Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies put $200m into Facebook, which set the site's valuation at $10bn.

America's richest man once again this year was Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates with an estimated net worth of $50bn, followed by investor Warren Buffett with $40bn and Oracle founder Larry Ellison with $27bn.

Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin came in at number 11 with $15.3bn each.

They were followed by Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer in 14th place, with an estimated net worth of $13.3bn. Eric Schmidt looked a mere pauper by comparison with a fortune of just $5.5bn.

Media mogul and News Corporation chief executive Rupert Murdoch came in at number 37 with $6bn, just above Apple chief executive Steve Jobs at number 43, with a net worth of $5.1bn.

Director Steven Spielberg came in at 97 with $3bn, $700m above TV host Oprah Winfrey, who placed 141 with a net worth of $2.3bn.

A newcomer to the list is Marvel Entertainment chief Isaac Perlmutter in 230th place. Perlmutter's net worth soared in August to $1.55bn after Disney agreed to buy his firm for $4bn in cash and stock.

Yahoo! co-founders David Filo and Jerry Yang, came in at 296th and 317th place respectively, with net worths of $1.3bn and $1.25bn.
