Media mogul and News Corporation chief executive Rupert Murdoch came in at number 37 with $6bn, just above Apple chief executive Steve Jobs at number 43, with a net worth of $5.1bn.
Director Steven Spielberg came in at 97 with $3bn, $700m above TV host Oprah Winfrey, who placed 141 with a net worth of $2.3bn.
A newcomer to the list is Marvel Entertainment chief Isaac Perlmutter in 230th place. Perlmutter's net worth soared in August to $1.55bn after Disney agreed to buy his firm for $4bn in cash and stock.
Yahoo! co-founders David Filo and Jerry Yang, came in at 296th and 317th place respectively, with net worths of $1.3bn and $1.25bn.
