Green has hit it big with the format, landing a 12-part third series. The return prompted Guardian TV critic Sam Woolaston to write: "Oh Robson, give up the acting, and the swimming and all that. This is what you should be doing, for ever."

But Five's 5.1% share of viewing paled in comparison to ITV1, the leading commercial channel in the same 9pm-10pm slot.

'The Bill: Duty Calls' attracted 3.9 million viewers and a 15.6% share.

Channel 4 offered a 'Dispatches' documentary about the children of Mumbai's slums, bringing in 2.1 million viewers and a 9.7% share across C4 and C4+1.

The slot's biggest audience went to BBC One, as 6.1 million opted for 'Silent Witness', giving the channel a 24.7% share.

BBC Two got 2.6 million for 'Mock The Week' at 9pm and two million for 'Rab C Nesbitt' at 9.30pm-10pm.
