Dancing On Ice notches up 8.4 million viewers for ITV1

LONDON - 'Dancing on Ice' pulled in 8.4 million viewers in its second week on ITV1, coming in ahead of BBC One's ratings last night, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The Macleans-sponsored celebrity contest returned to screens last week with 8.9 million viewers watching the female contestants, including Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies, competing to go through to the next round.

Yesterday it was the turn of the male contestants, with 31% of the audience catching the main 6.45pm-8.30pm show showcasing the talents of Boyzone's Mikey Graham and GMTV's Dr Hilary Jones among others.

The show was up against BBC One's 'Antiques Roadshow at 7pm-8pm, which managed 6.7 million viewers and a 24% share, and then 'Lark Rise To Candleford' at 8pm-9pm, which managed 6.2 million viewers and a 22% share.

ITV1's evening continued with seven million viewers tuning in for 'Wild at Heart' between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

The 'Dancing On Ice' skate-off show followed, attracting 7.1 million viewers and a 27% share. Bobby Davro was the first man to be voted off, joining Sinitta in the wilderness.
