It will be the first overseas office for the London-based agency since it opened in 2002.
The Miami office will open in October and be led by Fred Porro as group managing director. Porro – who was responsible for establishing Ignite in the UK – will continue to oversee the strategic direction of the UK office as part of his new role. He will also work with Ignite co-founder Kevin Wall who is also chairman and founder of Ignite’s partner Control Room, based in Los Angeles.
Ignite chairman Harvey Goldsmith said: "Ignite has great heritage working with US-based brands and rights holders, so stateside was the obvious choice for us when it came to expanding the Ignite brand beyond Europe.
"Miami is also the hub for a large number of marketing initiatives into South America, so the new office will be ideally located to pursue new business opportunities in Brazil, including the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games."
Cris Cicirello and Paul Saville will become joint managing directors of the London office. Both have been with the agency for more than eight years.
Since launching, Ignite has worked with clients including Vodafone, Barclays, NFL, Tesco and Sky.
