Tweets about the Games will generate the lightshow using an algorithm developed by technology studio Sosolimited.

Social sentiment tracking will divide the tweets into positive and negative conversations and filter them through a programme that converts them into the lightshow.

The lightshow will reflect the achievements of Team GB, displaying gold, silver or bronze lighting each day depending on the colour of the medals Team GB bring home.

Justin Manor, founder of Sosolimited, said: "We distil 24 hours of action into a 24-minute visual concert that embodies the emotional peaks and troughs of the day."

The show will take place every night during the Olympics and Paralympics at 9pm on the EDF London Eye.

Tweets will be picked up on the #Energy2012 hastag as well as any other mention of the Olympics and Paralympics. The show will also be streamed live each night on .

London's Tower Bridge will also be glowing to celebrate the Olympics,
