"Czech House" will be a centre for the Czech Olympic Committee, the Czech Government and a wide range of associated organisations for the duration of the Games, from 27 July -12 August 2012.
It will host political, public, economic, business and cultural events as well as sports-related functions and will be a centre for interaction between the Czech Republic and the UK, the EU and the Olympic movement. Organisers said the venue will also be used to introduce and promote the Czech Republic, its regions, economy and culture.
Apart from the Czech Olympic Committee and the Czech Government, Czech regional governments, trade, development and tourism bodies, media and commercial partners will all be represented.
The venue is expected to host daily events and exhibitions, focusing on different aspects of the Czech Republic and its culture, while some events will be more directly associated with the Olympics.
"The Czech Olympic Committee is very pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the Business Design Centre in London regarding its use as the Czech Olympic House during the 2012 London Olympic Games," said Czech Olympic Committee vice president Jirí Kejval.
"It is our ambition to open up this space to all lovers of sport and culture during the Games. We want to bring something of the spirit of both the Czech Republic and the Olympics to Islington and combine them in a truly memorable way."
