I got into the event industry because I love working with people. Plus I’m a little bit of a control freak.

I have worked here since September 2012.

I was attracted to this particular role because I wanted to be part of a something different. I wanted to help develop - with one of my good friends - a creative, dynamic event company where nurturing talent and mutual respect are key. A company people enjoy working for, working with and working alongside. And who are really brilliant at organising events.

Not many people know that I was head girl at school.

My worst experience at an event was someone having a suspected heart attack at a dinner attended by more than 700 people.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s to smile, stay calm and use your intuition when everything around you is going crazy.

The best event I’ve been involved was in was a weekend-long celebration for Scottish Sea Farms staff. Deacon Blue and Kevin Bridges performed on the opening night at The Arches in Glasgow. The full weekend was a lot of hard work to execute but a really fun one to pull together.

If I could do it all over again I would have learned a foreign language.

The one thing I can’t stand is arrogance and bad manners.

Outside of work I spend my time enjoying living back in Edinburgh, finding new foodie haunts, still trying to work out pilates moves and seeing my 12-week-old niece as much as I can.

If money were no object I’d whisk the Lux team over to New York for our team away day next month. I love that city.

The one thing I can’t do my job without is Google.

If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be the Bafta Film Awards event team. A dream of mine is to work with Stephen Fry.

If I ruled the event industry I would enforce RSVP deadlines.
