Merlin Events' London venue Madame Tussauds has teamed up with digital agency Rewind FX to create a virtual reality (VR) experience. The VR technology gives potential bookers the opportunity to visit the venue remotely and check out its event space from the comfort of their offices. The simulated walkthrough runs via a Samsung Galaxy Gear headset.
TableCrowd launched in Brighton last month and will launch in Edinburgh in October. The platform organises social-networking dinners tailored to business needs, and allows users to arrange their own food-based events. The company is now hosting around 15-20 dinners a month in London. Event tech companies that have previously been guests at TableCrowd events include We Are Pop Up, Hirespace and Eventbrite.
Cloud-based digital queue and appointment management system Qudini has been selected as a preferred global supplier by Telefonica Group. Qudini has said the deal will allow the company to grow its team and further international expansion. The system, which targets the events, hospitality and restaurant sectors, is now in use across O2's 270 UK stores, and will launch in Spain's Movistar outlets before being implemented across Latin America.
Ticketbud has launched a product that allows event managers in large organisations to ticket hundreds of different events under one account. Once a main administrator has been set up on the system, event managers can sign up for a user profile. The users are given access to the Ticketbud for Organisations' functions, while the organisation holds complete administrative control and the ability to gather insights on all its events.
