The international hotel group worked with Samsung Electronics America to create the technology, which is said to be the first of its kind in the travel industry.
Guests can request VRoom Service via a dedicated phone extension or use Marriott’s Mobile Request app, at which point a Samsung Gear VR headset and accompanying headphones will be delivered to their door.
The VR equipment is presented to guests with instructions for use, and it available to loan to for up to 24-hours.
The group's London Marriott Park Lane and New York Marriott Marquis properties are the first to receive VRoom Service - both are currently testing it over a two-week period.
Marriott has also launched three VR Postcards, which can be viewed as part of VRoom Service, and they are also available to the general public via the Samsung Milk VR premium video service.
In what promises to be an immersive and intimate experience, users can opt to be transported to either the Andes Mountains in Chile, an ice cream shop in Rwanda or Beijing in China.
A real traveller features in each video – they are depicted on a journey to a unique destination and discuss why travel is important to them.
Matthew Carroll, vice president at Marriott Hotels said: "Our guests want to be in inventive spaces that help foster their creativity and thinking. Vroom combines storytelling with technology, two things that are important to next generation travellers."
Matt Apfel, vice president, strategy and creative content at Samsung Media Solutions Center America added: "VRoom Service is one of the first business applications of Samsung’s Gear VR technology.
"We’re tremendously excited to be collaborating with an innovative brand like Marriott on creating the future for travellers."
