The company, which provides props and theming for events, said it is looking to find a London base in the early part of next year to cater for an increased level of event enquiries it has received from clients in the capital, as well as the surrounding areas.
Rosie Ellis, managing director and co-founder at Event Prop Hire, told Event: "In terms of business performance we have had a great few years and grown year-on-year. Last year we invested in a design department and with that, it will help us to deliver more events in the future.
"We have wanted to invest more into the business so that we can have an established presence in the capital, as well as the rest of the UK, and develop stronger links with venues and event organisers based in London and the outskirts."
She added London-based events currently account for 50% of total business, and the company will also be targeting a number major UK cities as part of its growth plan including Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.
Laura Henwood, London team leader at Event Prop Hire, is currently working from a temporary office in the capital with another member of staff. She said: "With our main office and production site in York, it has been difficult to pop out and see potential or existing clients.
"Now with the new London office and showroom due to open next year, as well as being here at present, we are much more accessible to these people and can have a more personable, face-to-face approach with them."
Event Prop Hire is managed by Ellis and her business partner Matthew East, and currently employs 50 members of staff within its York head office and a warehouse in Wetherby. Its design department, which consists of five members of staff, has the capability to create 3D room plans as an additional service for event organisers and venues.
