
Vidler will take up the role this summer. She will lead all of EMI Music's operations in the UK and Ireland, reporting to David Kassler, EMI Music's European president.
Formerly Vidler worked as managing director of Capital Radio and of Magic 105.4. Bauer is home to 53 consumer magazines, including heat, GRAZIA, Closer and music titles Q, Kerrang! and Mojo.
It broadcasts 42 radio stations including Magic 105.4 and Kiss, and TV channels including 4Music through its joint venture with Channel 4.
Prior to working at Bauer, Vidler was managing director of Capital Radio Group. She spent seven years at the BBC after working as an account director at StillPrice/Lintas during the launch of Radio Five Live.
She joined the BBC as marketing manager for Radio Five Live responsible for growing station awareness and audience share. In 1996 she was promoted to head of marketing for BBC News.
Her remit included developing an over-arching marketing and communications strategy across all television, radio and online news.
Vidler next moved to the role of head of marketing and business Development for BBC Sport.
In her role she worked closely with the director general on all competitive sport contract tenders including Test Match Cricket, Premiership and the FA Cup and Wimbledon.
