The third-person stealth game, a sequel to 3m selling 'Hitman 2: Silent Assassin', sees players take on the role of an assassin who eliminates terrorists, crime bosses and corrupt politicians in the course of the game.
Due to hit stores on April 30, the highly anticipated 'Hitman: Contracts' will be backed by terrestrial TV and cinema advertising. The game is the biggest release of the year for Eidos, which is the games firm behind the Tomb Raider games.
The cinema advertising campaign will break on April 23 to coincide with the launch of Quentin Tarantino's sequel to 2003 martial arts revenge movie 'Kill Bill'.
The TV and cinema campaign will be supported by outdoor poster activity, print, retail promotions and PR activity.
John Davis, Eidos' European marketing director, said: "Hitman: Contracts' is our biggest release of the year so far and this is reflected in the size of the marketing support. We've built a very strong campaign with tremendous reach and frequency that will ensure people are fully aware that 'Hitman: Contracts' is a must-have title."
'Hitman: Contracts' explores the dark psychology of killing for a living as you take on the role of the world's deadliest assassin, Agent 47.
Eidos are promising that 'Hitman: Contracts' will be "the most disturbing and action-packed" in the Hitman series.
'Hitman: Contracts' has been developed by IO Interactive, the Danish based studio, which was recently acquired by Eidos, and will be available for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
