The app, which is being built by Zone, will allow users to download The Economist's annual ranking of international MBA courses, and sort the data behind the rankings to find the course best tailored to their personal requirements.

Users can adjust the weightings, such as average salary increases, future employment prospects, networking opportunities and the diversity of the student population behind The Economist's ranking to find the best MBA course.

Ron Diorio, vice president of product and community development for The Economist Online, said the app is designed to support The Economist's online ranking tool, which provides information on hundreds of courses..

"By merging the Which MBA? 2010 magazine content with directed user activity we think we are creating a unique opportunity to drive something more than an e-reader experience for those candidates considering entry into MBA programmes," he said.
