Holidaymakers can search and buy flight tickets up to eight hours before departure by keying in basic details into a Wap-enabled phone through Orange and T-Mobile networks.
Ebookers is also planning to roll out booking engines for hotels, cars and insurance across the four major operators.
Customers enter the through its Wap portal under the travel section and can search for flights with the keypad. Search criteria include departure and destination airport, date and time of flights, number of tickers and seat class.
Payment is made via a secure system, allowing users to register and enter a pin number for future use.
To launch the services, Ebookers is running a promotion with T-Mobile offering customers who register for T-Mobile's method of taking online payment the chance to win tickets to the England vs France Euro 2004 match. The agency is also offering T-Mobile customers limited £50 flight discounts.
Brent Spicer, business development director at Ebookers, said: "We see this as being primarily used for last-minute flight purchases but there are wider possibilities for this application as well, such as sending customers SMS travel itineraries, welcome back messages and other direct marketing initiatives."
