The Tanqueray Drawing Rooms concept has been developed by agency Devries Slam, which will also be leading on the project management. TBA will be supporting and heading up the event production.
It will launch on 12 November with an invite-only press launch, with the following two days opening up to the general public. The space, located on Fitzroy Square, will allow people to go behind the doors of a private Georgian living room inspired by the prohibition era and take part in a series of evenings centred on fashion, history, cocktails and culture.
The pop-up experience has been inspired by the Open House London weekend as well as Peter Dazeley’s new book Unseen London, which both offer a backstage look at some of the capital’s most intriguing addresses.
Throughout the venue, Tanqueray will be hosting a series of experiences, including an area for guests to create personalised illustrations inspired by Tanqueray’s very own red wax seal with digital illustrator Sophie Barton. Male styling sessions from Sartoria Lab and vintage headpiece-making sessions with expert workshop curators the Indytute will also be on offer, as well as secret rooms for attendees to explore.
Classic cocktails and food has been developed especially for the experience, with a signature Tanqueray twist by UK World Class Bartender of the Year 2014 James Fowler and 2012 champion Andy Mil, as well as Tanqueray Global and UK ambassadors, Barrie Wilson and Tim Homewood.
The Tanqueray Drawing Rooms pop-up is part of the #TanquerayThursdays series, which the brand has described as an evolving weekly guide to the top ten coolest Thursday night experiences in London, with exclusive cocktail offers for Tanqueray fans at each destination. The series launched on 9 October and runs until 11 December, with events including Forza Winter, Swingers crazy golf in Shoreditch and a Candlelight Club Halloween night.
