The designs for the events space include an urban 'Leisure Lab' park and a woodland canopy.

The public space will host festivals and performances and contain a visitor centre, water features and play facilities.

A competition was launched in July to develop a design concept for the area and a winner will be announced in December.

Olympic Park Legacy Company chief executive Andrew Altman said: "The Olympic Park Legacy Company is mobilising plans at pace for the development of the Olympic Park after the 2012 Games. Plans are more advanced than any previous host Olympic City to deliver an exciting mix of new homes, jobs, leisure and business opportunities."
