will offer the DVD card, designed to be used with an internet-connected computer, free to customers of its .
The card allows couples to set up and manage a personalised online wedding list with the store from home. It showcases content such as gift ideas, an interactive mannequin showing the latest formal and hire wear and a service for downloading wedding music.
The DVD card and its content are supplied by Serious Europe and will first appear in Debenhams stores in mid-May. The retailer plans to have 45,000 cards a year.
Couples are encouraged to let friends and family know they can contribute money to their wedding list account. Added incentives to register the card include special offers and entry into a quarterly prize draw.
The digital technology allows Debenhams to track customer activity on its website.
Paul Lines, retail services brand manager at Debenhams, said: "By giving the bride and groom an engaging ecommerce kit, we can now give them the flexibility to choose from the whole Debenhams product range.
"As well as being easy for guests, couples are able to personally track, and in real time, manage spending online with peace of mind."
