The day #fracas became part of our lexicon

Jezza is at it again. Meanwhile, our thoughts are unexpectedly turning to a place where Twitter isn't allowed, but where there's dancing and wood-fire hot tubs...

The day #fracas became part of our lexicon
Heineken

Most read: Heineken escapes ad ban

In spite of complaints that it linked booze consumption to sexual triumph, the ASA ruled this TV ad from Heineken did not contravene the strict rules around advertising alcohol products, .

The Youth Alcohol Advertising Council was not at all happy about the ad, claiming it encouraged excessive drinking, and linked the beer with popularity and sexual success.

Heineken said the main character was not shown consuming alcohol, and the ad did not imply he was intoxicated. It said one scene was "highly fantastical", and was meant to be seen as fun, not serious.

Indeed, his evening looks like a whole lotta fun and, personally, I’d love to travel over London at night in my own private pod on a wire.

Clarkson

Most shared: Jeremy Clarkson in #fracas shock

The Jezza Clarkson #fracas has left many of you asking today, what on earth does this man have to do to get sacked?

The BBC suspended Clarkson yesterday after a row with a Top Gear producer, .

Clarkson was already on a final warning following a racism row last year, after claims that he used racist language while reciting the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny Moe during filming of the BBC2 programme.

The BBC said Top Gear will not be shown as originally scheduled this Sunday.

The result of our asking whether you think Clarkson’s time at the BBC is up is pretty level pegging - 48% of you are saying yes, but more than half still think he has another life.

An online petition calling for the BBC to #BringBackClarkson (also trending on Twitter) has surpassed 400,000 signatures.

Clarkson doesn’t seem overly perturbed by the whole #fracas.

If you’re heading out to Texas for SXSW this weekend and you’re a fan of The Simpsons, you’re one lucky son of a gun.

According to , producers of The Simpsons are bringing its Kwik-E-Mart food truck to the event. It will be run by none other than convenience store owner, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.

The dataforce

In focus: The rise of the dataforce

According to IBM, 90% of all the data in the world has been created in the last two years. The information explosion is upon us.

In today’s new post on our , Experian’s Jonathan Hulford-Funnell charts the rise of chief data officers (CDO), and how they will soon be joined in marketing teams by chief digital officers and directors of insight.

Innocent Unplugged

BR recommends: Turning off once in a while

Collectively, we are the worst offenders when it comes to being always on, and although I wouldn’t normally be one to preach about digital detoxes, sometimes going off the grid can be a smart move. Innocent thinks so too.

Today it announced its new summer festival , which will feature no wifi, no selfies, no filters and no electricity. There will, however, be DJs and a wood-fire outdoor spa. Hello!

Any power will be generated by festival-goers and the sun, should it make an appearence.

The event is taking place on 23-24 May in a secret forest location just outside London. Tickets can be won via .
