It attracted a share of 34% of the available audience on ITV1 and ITV1 HD between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, and peaked at 10.4 million viewers.
The results show from 9.30pm to 10.15pm pulled in 7.43 million to see Rippon and Nadia Sawalha voted off. In between the two shows, the start of a new series of drama 'Wild at Heart' was watched by 7.93 million from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
BBC One also rolled out a returning series in the form of 'Lark Rise to Candleford', which has had three previous outings.
The programme garnered an audience of 6.69 million, which gave the channel a 23.7% share of viewing, including BBC One HD.
Channel 4's 'Dispatches', which focused on criminals who escaped a prison in Haiti in last year's earthquake, ran at 8-9pm with an audience of 753,000. Including Channel 4+1 ratings it reached 813,000.
