CSA on the look-out for Formula 1-Odeon sponsor

LONDON - Carlton Screen Advertising, the UK's largest cinema sales house, is on the hunt for a sponsor to back an initiative in which the Odeon cinema chain will broadcast live coverage of this season's Formula 1 races.

The races will be shown at 30 Odeon cinemas across the country until the end of the F1 season on November 2, covering 12 races. CSA estimates the screenings will attract 35,000 racing fans.

The broadcast is being shot exclusively for the cinema screenings in high definition and will be shown without ads or interruptions, a move that is likely to appeal to F1 fanatics.

ITV1's live F1 coverage has been criticised for cutting away to ad breaks during key moments of the race.

The sponsorship package will include 13-minutes screen time before each race as well as foyer promotions and sampling on the days of the races.

The initiative will also be supported by a marketing campaign.

British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is currently leading the driver standings in only his second season by three points, having recently won the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.
