Carphone Warehouse hands Figtree multi-country project

LONDON - Mobile phone giant The Carphone Warehouse has appointed Figtree to handle direct and in-store marketing with a focus on encouraging its Continental Europe customers to upgrade their phones.

The appointment will see Figtree work on an ongoing campaign due to launch this spring and summer across seven European countries including France, Germany, and Spain.

The communications work is expected to include direct mail, in-store channels, SMS and outbound calling.

Julian Przygrodzki, head of European marketing at The Carphone Warehouse, said Figtree's reputation in the industry had helped earn it the business.

"Figtree has rightfully developed a strong reputation as creative problem solvers for a growing range of brand and marketing challenges and has a solid track record in the telecoms sector," he said. "We were impressed with their expertise in turning their own innovative ideas into practical brand and communications solutions that can be easily implemented across large regions and a wide range of media."

Figtree has significant experience in the mobile phone sector, counting Orange and Blackberry among its clients. Established only five years ago, the creative consultancy also works with Yahoo!, Microsoft, Visa and Penguin.
