Caples Awards bring in Haymarket as partner

LONDON - The John Caples International Awards has entered into a partnership with Haymarket Media to strengthen and expand the 30 year old awards programme.

The Caples Awards celebrate international direct response and interactive creative and were founded and chaired by . They were founded in honour of pioneering direct marketing copywriter John Caples.

Emerson and the board started negotiations with Haymarket Media, which owns DM News in the US where the awards are based, in 2007. Haymarket also owns Brand Republic, Marketing Direct and ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 in the UK.

The talks have led to a three-year agreement with Haymarket.

Patrick Fultz, president and chief operating officer of the Caples board, said: "The board has been searching for ways to enhance the stature and structure of our awards show while maintaining its focus on creative excellence.

"By partnering with Haymarket Media, who will help manage an expanded event, we look forward to an even stronger, more vibrant John Caples 2.0 event come 2009."

The non-profit Caples organisation is the only major international direct marketing awards competition not owned by an association or media company.

The awards are funded and sponsored by individuals, agencies and other companies in the direct and interactive marketing industry and run entirely by volunteers.
