Canon selects Neolane for targeted campaigns

LONDON - Canon has chosen Neolane software to help it to develop more targeted and personalised direct marketing campaigns.

The campaigns will include direct mail, email and events and be produced using Canon's flagship digital colour press.

Canon will use Neolane software to segment its database and target different customer and prospect types with personalised and relevant campaigns on business advice, product news, user training and promotional offers.

Neolane will enable Canon to develop and control strategic campaigns in-house. It will also help with the swift creation of urgent ad-hoc campaigns that can be created, targeted, approved and launched by the Canon marketing team.

This will allow Canon to exploit a short-term market opportunity or launch a response to competitor activity within hours.

Adam Poole, head of channel marketing at Canon Business Solutions, said: "Moving away from mass campaigns to precision marketing techniques will help us to build a relationship with our customers and improve the frequency of communication that we have with potential Canon customers."

Francois Laxalt, marketing director of Neolane in Europe, said: "Canon UK is following best practice by segmenting business user types for its business solutions and seeking to target each segment individually, via the preferred communications channel of the customer."
