Candlish has been covering the role for Caroline Herbert, who has been on maternity leave for the last eight months. Herbert was in the role for three years prior to going on leave.
After joining NatMags from TalkSPORT, Candlish has made a significant contribution including overseeing the biggest issue of Cosmopolitan in the UK to date in December 2004.
Candlish was previously ad director at TalkSPORT's publishing division, and prior to this was head of magazines at Trinity Mirror. She was made redundant from Trinity Mirror in 2002 as part of a restructure.
Herbert has decided to change roles on her return from maternity leave and will return as associate publisher for the Good Housekeeping/Country Living group.
Jan Adcock, group publishing director at NatMags, said: "2005 is going to be the most exciting year for all the Cosmopolitan group titles and I can't imagine a more capable person in this crucial role or as part of the senior management team."
The titles in the Cosmopolitan group are Cosmopolitan, CosmoGirl, and Cosmopolitan Hair & Beauty.
