Buoyed by Beckhams, Hello! site marks third birthday

LONDON – Buoyed by an insatiable public interest in the Beckhams and other celebrities, Hello's website is celebrating its third birthday with soaring traffic and plans for new features including SMS celebrity updates.

Launched in April 2001, has witnessed a 125% increase in traffic since its first audit in December 2002. Its latest official ABCe figure for January saw it score 766,191 unique users and 13.5m page impressions a month.

With a strong following in the UK and around the world, the site is updated every day with the latest celebrity lifestyle and royal news.

Over the past year new sections have been added to the site including horoscopes by famed astrologer Jonathan Cainer, and the Diamond Club paid content area.

Other developments have seen the Hello! news archive go online, giving visitors access to a searchable database of Hello! news.

Hellomagazine.com has also undergone a redesign of all its major sections, giving it a new look and a more contemporary feel with cooler colours, bolder headlines and easier to navigate bars.

Tree Elven, editor of the site, said: "This coming year will see more exciting new developments for the site. Soon, we'll be launching SMS updates to your mobile so that you'll hold the news on your favourite celebrities in the palm of your hand."
