The Anheuser-Busch InBev lager brand and the ride-hailing app are offering free rides to new users throughout December. The offer will be promoted through out of home ads at 3500 sites across the UK.

Budweiser’s wider campaign will also see the UK launch of its ad starring Helen Mirren from the 2016 Super Bowl, in which the Oscar winner delivers a monologue, utterly lambasting people who drink and drive.

The ad will show across Sky channels, in cinema, and on digital platforms including Facebook and Snapchat during December.

Steph Okell, marketing manager, Budweiser UK, said: "Despite all the reasons not to, people are still drinking and driving. This Christmas Budweiser is communicating in a bold, new way to put a stop to that.

"Our Helen Mirren ad addresses the issue of drink driving in a straight-talking, unconventional tone: a wake-up call to start as many conversations as possible and get people to plan their journey home during the biggest party season of the year."
