From today, BTopenworld's 1.7m customers will be provided with leading search facilities from Overture.
Mehdi Salam, director of sales at BTopenworld, said: "We are delighted to bring these services to our site. We are providing our customers with a choice of high quality services powered by two of the leading providers."
Overture's listings are generated by advertisers who bid for placement on keywords relevant to their business. Overture's 100 editorial controllers screen listings before being distributed to the company's search partner network, which includes many of the internet's most popular destination sites, such as AOL, Lycos and MSN.
Martin Child, managing director of Overture UK said: "The deal with Overture allows BTopenworld to supply highly relevant search results to their customers, giving users the best search experience."
He added: "The business and user benefits of pay-for-performance search are now firmly established in the UK and, as the company that pioneered the concept, Overture is pleased to strengthen its leadership with such an important search partner as BTopenworld."
Overture, which is listed on Nasdaq, claims to be the world's leader in pay-for-performance search on the internet.
In the third quarter of 2002, Overture made 500m paid introductions on a worldwide basis between consumers and its 73,000 advertisers, who bid for placement on relevant search results and pay Overture only when a consumer clicks on their listing.
