Broadsystem and EuroDirect merge under new name

LONDON - Direct marketing and data firms Broadsystem and EuroDirect are merging their operations to become Callcredit Information Group Marketing Solutions.

The two businesses have worked side by side as part of Callcredit since Broadsystem was acquired in January last year.

Now their individual brands will make way for Callcredit Information Group Marketing Solutions, which will be headed up by EuroDirect managing director and Broadsystem chief executive Caroline Worboys.

The merged business will continue to operate across its three sites -- in Leeds, Bristol and Chalfont, employing 750 people. A spokeswoman for the company said that no redundancies are planned.

Last November, in a move that pre-empted this month's merger, , who stepped down after 15 years to take on the role of business development director.

The merger will see GMAP Consulting, Callcredit's marketing analysis and retail planning business, become part of the newly formed division.

Worboys said: "Bringing together the capabilities of these two companies into one offering is a huge step forward for the group.

"Now is a time for innovation and modernisation and by diverting our resources towards developing our combined offering we believe we are in a great position to help businesses achieve their goals."

The news comes in the same month that Callcredit, formerly Skipton Information Group, with sales increasing by 73% despite the economic downturn.
