Lend Lease worked with brand agency Identity to come up with the new "brand and experience-led" name.
Commenting on the decision, venue director Rebecca Cardozo said: "We are all very excited about Glow. The name is absolutely perfect for an amazing place that will play host to such a wide range of inspiring events.
"Glow is emotive, evocative and attention grabbing and, in guest-research, was very well received. It also sits comfortably with Bluewater, which is renowned for its unique day-out experience."
Lend Lease head of retail development Richard Coppell added: "Bluewater has remained one of the industry’s frames of reference ever since it opened due to its ability to evolve and to innovate.
"Glow is a prime example of both. It represents not just a new genre of venue for the events industry, but a completely fresh perspective on retail asset enhancement. Its development by Lend Lease challenges conventional thinking to create what we are confident will become a new model for the industry."
The 5,200sqm venue was scheduled to open at the end of October, but the launch was put back to 30 November to coincide with its first event, Clarion’s Spirit of Christmas.
