Beyoncé is performing for 11 nights as part of her Mrs Carter world tour, including four nights at London’s O2 Arena. Tickets for the gigs have a face value of £50 - £85.

They went on sale to the general public on Saturday morning (23 February) and sold out in just over 10 minutes. Most tickets had already been sold in a 48-hour pre-sale for O2 Priority customers, according to official ticketing site Ticketmaster.

Tickets are currently on sale for up to £1,306.31 on Viagogo (for 1 May at The O2) and up to £1,098 on Seatwave (for LG Arena in Birmingham on 27 April).

At 9.43am on Saturday, Ticketmaster tweeted: "We’re really sorry, demand was massive and we’ve sold out of our allocation. @Beyoncé is the most popular solo artist in the world!"

Beyonce is jointly promoted by SJM Concerts and Live Nation. Live Nation told Event it doesn’t comment on the resale of tickets.

Ed Parkinson, spokesperson for Viagogo, said: "Ticket prices are set by the seller, not by Viagogo, and the majority on our site are priced at or around face value. There will always be a few special events like Beyoncé where sellers list their tickets at higher prices. However, those people taking a chance listing tickets at extortionate levels are unlikely to sell them."
